Many players live in areas that do not have a convenient bow professional available to offer rehair and repair services for their bows. I have many clients around the country that choose to ship their bows to me for these services.
If you would like to ship your bow to me, please contact me first by phone, text or email so I know when to expect your shipment.
Costs to ship your bow vary depending on shipping company and distance so be sure to shop around before deciding which company to use. You cover shipping costs to me, and I will cover shipping costs back to you.
The safest way to send your bow is individually wrapped in bubble wrap and placed inside a PVC tube with end caps that are padded on each side. The tube is then placed inside a square or triangular box with padding around the tube inside the box. This prevents the tube from rolling around and minimizes the chance for damage to the bow. Many shipping companies charge quite a bit more to ship round packages as they require different handling due to them being able to roll around.
I can also provide you with a secure bow shipping container that can be used multiple times. The cost to purchase is $20.00 and includes a PVC tube, cardboard box, adequate padding, instructions on how to pack your bow safely and free shipping to your home or business.
Turnaround times for rehairs are generally one day in addition to time in transit to and from my workshop. Additional time may be needed for more extensive repairs and a time estimate will be given once the bow arrives and I have inspected it.
When shipping your bow to me, it is recommended that you use a service that offers insurance and accurate tracking such as UPS, USPS Priority, or FedEx.
Damage to a bow in shipping is a rare occurrence, but it does happen usually due to improper packing or gross negligence by the shipping company. I highly recommend having your bow insured by a separate insurance policy rather than the shipping company's insurance.
While I am responsible for any damage to your bow in my possession or in transit back to you, it is your responsibility to make sure the bow is properly packed and insured while in transit to me.
